Dr. Ava Kwong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry chaired the Ovarian Cancer BRCA Mutations Testing Expert Meeting 2018 on 6th March. The meeting was attended by experts and key opinion leaders in this area to understand the present practice of referrals for genetic testing and gather opinions and understanding on the importance of genetic testing. A survey was done to collect information from oncologist, surgeons, gynecologists prior to meeting and results of the survey were discussed. Furthermore, background and up to date research studies on genetic testing for breast and ovarian cancer were presented in the meeting and experts opinions were sort to give suggestions to the formulation of guidelines on generic testing in Hong Kong.
