Pink Ball 2018 Renaissance

The annual Pink Ball “Renaissance” organized by the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry was successfully held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on 27th October, 2018.  Moving into our 11th year, we were so delighted to have Professor Sophia Chan as our officiating guest. In her opening speech, Professor Chan showed her support to the work of The Registry in providing assistance to patients with hereditary cancers and their families. The first highlight of the Ball was the Latin dance performed by Mrs. Lucy Wang. The dazzling and elegant dance was applauded by guests with embraces and bouquets. After the charity dance performance, our Chairman Dr. Ava Kwong took centre stage introducing a series of new services and developments of The Registry.  Meanwhile, our special guest of honor Dr. Louisa Wong Tak Yu appeared to lead the pledging game. The target was to raise $100 million in 10 minutes. To our surprise, we were able to raise over $200 million within the time limit which was above our expectation. A big thank you to those who attended our Gala.  Your kind donation will be used in financing the underserved high-risk families to access free genetic testing, counselling services, and preventative measures, and to support clinical research to improve the testing and data collection for hereditary cancers in the Chinese community.
